Wokha District Public Library opens

 District Public Library, Wokha Town at DIET Complex was inaugurated on August 1 by DC & chairman of District Library Committee Wokha Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the library should help develop the reading habit in young students and also help them prepare for various competitive exams.

He appealed to well-wishers of the district to come forward and donate books and reading materials as the library is still in its infancy with a limited number of books. The DC also stated that once the library becomes fully operational it will help students who cannot afford to purchase books. He thanked the department of SCERT and principal DIET Wokha for allowing the establishment of the district public library on a temporary basis in their complex. Around six hundreds books, fictional, non-fictional and magazines are available in the library. The library was dedicated by pastor, WTBC Rev. Sulumo Ezung, sr. principal GHSS, Y. Vungthungo chaired the program and vote of thanks was proposed by lecturer DIET, Dr. L. Yanthan.
