State eDistrict Project Digilocker launched

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India organized an event at Guwahati on August 11 where Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Justice & Law, Ravi Shankar Prasad, and Nagaland PHED minister, Jacob Zhimomi jointly launched the Digilocker services for ‘Nagaland eDistrict Project’. Several other projects for other North Eastern states, including the Vision Document for a Digital North East 2022, were also launched at the event.

Nagaland department of Information Technology & Communications, assistant program officer, Yanger Longkumer, in a press release said that Jacob Zhimomi, representing the state, congratulated the department of Information Technology & Communications for playing a key role in transforming Nagaland into a modern state. He also opined that the young people of the North Eastern region could be innovators, creators and builders of the future. 

He added that the government of Nagaland would undertake all necessary activities to ensure implementation of the Vision for a Digital North East 2022 to meet the changes of the present times.

The event was attended by the chief ministers of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and other senior officers from the North Eastern States and Government of India.
