State level training for NSS 76th round

A state level training for the 76th round of National Sample Survey (NSS) was conducted at the directorate of Economics & Statistics, Nagaland, Kohima from August 28 to 29.  

A press release from NSS stated that Y. Sacheo Ovung, director, urged the trainees to be sincere and diligent. Emphasizing on the need for reliable statistics of the state, he said that the database obtained through the NSS served as a major source of socio-economic information for formulating comprehensive planning in the state.

The district Economics & Statistics officers along with a host of technical staff from districts attended the training. 

The NSS 76th round survey period is for six months which started from July 1, 2018 and is to conclude on December 31.

It covers two important subjects, namely — “drinking water, sanitation, hygiene, housing conditions” and “survey of person with disabilities”.
