State may be declared ODF by next week

The National Consultation on SBM support operation was held in New Delhi on August 31 with all the states and development partners like World Bank, Tata Trust and UNESCO.

In a press release from commissioner secretary PHE Nagaland, Maong Aier stated that Nagaland was represented by himself and additional chief engineer, Y. Tep. According to Aier, Nagaland has completed the coverage of “Open Defecation Free (ODF) status” on August 31 and by next week Nagaland was expected to be declared an open defecation free state.

The union secretary of drinking water P. Aiyar gave an overview and summary of the support operation and the consultation with development partners, initiated by joint secretary SBM, Arun Baroka. State perspectives were given by the principal secretaries of states.
