Phek Town Council organized a cleanliness drive in collaboration with Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union on September 22 under the theme ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ at Phek Town. Various students, public leaders and public of Phek town attended the function.
DIPR reported that the function was chaired by ADC & administrator, PTC, Avelu Ruho while a short speech was delivered by PTCSU president, Vechihu Khamo. The ‘Swatchhata Hi Seva’ program was launched by Phek Deputy Commissioner, Orenthung Lotha.
He exhorted the gathering to spread awareness on the importance of cleanliness and asked the people to maintain a clean environment.
He also advised the people to be educated on health and hygiene. “Cleanliness starts at home” he stated, and called upon the people to set the best possible example for others to follow so that a clean and healthy society could be achieved together.
