Advisor Water Resources department, Namri Nchang launched the Aadhaar based biometric attendance system at the directorate of Water Resources on September 26.
According to a DIPR report, speaking at the program, Namri Nchang expressed happiness with the government’s initiative to introduce the biometric system in all government offices which will help in maintaining accuracy of attendance of all the employees. He encouraged the staff to cooperate and make good use of the new system.
Chief engineer Water Resources department, Tsuktinungsang, in his vote of thanks, reminded the staff that their performance and APAR will be reflected in the new system and encouraged all to be sincere and efficient in their duties. He acknowledged the department of Information Technology & Communication and Syscom Technology for assisting the department in installing the biometric attendance system.
As per the cabinet decision of March 8, 2018 where all departments were directed to introduce Aadhaar enabled biometric attendance systems for all government employees, the department officially launched the BAS to improve efficiency, transparency in monitoring attendance, leave record and over all working environment in the department.
The program was chaired by SDO & nodal officer for biometric attendance WRD, Er. Wapangnaro Imchen. The launching program was also graced by the commissioner & secretary, O.T. Chingmak.
