In commemoration of Peace Channel Foundation Day-&-International Day of Peace, Students of Little Flower Hr. Sec School Kohima, Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Christ King Hr. Sec School and Alder College Kohima were capacitated on “Right to peace”.
A press release from the Peace Channel’s desk stated that, Susan Kulnu, Peace Channel Kohima district coordinator, emphasised on the main objective of peace. She motivated the students to understand the concept of peace, to think of peace, love peace and make peace so as to take up initiatives in one’s own home and locality, to transform a culture of violence into a culture of peace.
Kulnu also shared that peace begins within oneself, while forgiveness and reconciliation pave a way in ushering inner peace. Inner peace is a process of keeping oneself at peace in the midst of stress and discord, she added. She also encouraged students to learn and appreciate oneself, respect the environment and to see earth as the only true home, to learn to forgive people and to respect people with differences. She concluded citing the words of Dalai Lama “Do not let the behaviour of others destroy your inner peace”.
The event was marked with a poster competition which was conducted between the peace club members of the three schools.
