IQAC, literary committee and the drama club of Unity College Dimapur conducted a literary day on September 29, organized to offer a competing platform for students.
A press release from dean of students’ welfare, Mhonbeni Jami stated that the objective of the literary day was to build confidence personally and socially by tapping talents of students. The day consisted of dramas, cos-play, folk fusion, performance poetry, story tellers and sketching.
Drama and folk fusion was an interdepartmental competition, while the four remaining events were open for all the students. The department of English and Commerce were placed in the 1st & 2nd positions respectively in the drama competition; department of Political Science won the folk fusion followed by the department of English. In the individual categories, Iuli Z Sumi of B.A. 5th semester was the winner of performance Poetry. Vilokali Sumi of B.A. 5th semester won the Cos-Play; the sketching award was bagged by Manpon Konyak of B.A. 5th semester, while Zuchobeni of B.A. third semester won the story tellers event.
