As announced on Tuesday last, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has begun with its fourth phase of Inner Line Permit (ILP) checking drive and poster campaign demanding inclusion of Dimapur within the purview of ILP.
As part of the campaign, the NSF volunteers pasted posters at various locations in Kohima town and Dimapur town on Friday. Some of the posters read “ILP is now the only lifeboat to save Dimapur from illegal immigrants”, “We demand ILP in Dimapur”, “only the like of Judas will oppose ILP in Dimapur”, “ILP identifies illegal immigrants”, “Dimapur without ILP today, Nagaland without Dimapur tomorrow”.
NSF had out that a memorandum was submitted to the chief minister demanding inclusion of Dimapur district within the purview of ILP on September 24, 2018 with an appeal to the chief minister’s office for a response within a time period of 30 days. However, NSF said the reply given to the federation had no mention of the ILP in Dimapur district.
