Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has strictly prohibited transporting, stocking or selling of firecrackers of any kind by any of its members. In a press release, MCCI president, Tsukti Longkumer, and general secretary, Limalenden Longkumer, cautioned that any member caught “doing this illicit business” would be doing so at their own risk and MCCI would not own responsibility. Further, all the members of MCCI have been requested to decorate their respective places of business to add more fervour to the festive season.
