The annual conference of principals of government colleges, Nagaland was held at the Directorate of Higher Education (DoHE) on October 26.
A press release from DoHE Kohima stated that the inaugural session focused on a series of briefings by the officials of the directorate on issues related to college administration, Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), college accreditation by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and Career Advance Schemes (CAS) for teachers.
The session was chaired by Kuholi Chishi, director of Higher Education, and began with an invocation of God’s presence by Dr. Watijungshi, principal, Kohima College, Kohima. It closed with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anungla Aier, additional director of Higher Education. In the business sessions, slide-show presentations were given by all the principals about their respective institution’s annual achievements, NAAC related matters, academic performance, enrolment of students and projects under RUSA. Validation certificates to colleges assessed by Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) were also handed out. Kuholi, in her concluding remarks, impressed upon the principals to encourage work culture among the teachers and to progress in their profession because the benchmarks for higher education are based on performance.
