Khatkhati and Bokajan Transport Union (KBTU), which had on Sunday imposed an indefinite “chakka jam” after one of its members was abducted by unknown miscreants, has resolved to continue the chakka jam, saying no commercial vehicles would be allowed to pass through NH-39 and NH-36 until all syndicate system of NPGs was totally abolished.
In a press release, Khatkhati and Bokajan Transport Union convenor Khehuli Kibami and co-convenor Shyam Gupta said the union passed the resolution at an emergency meeting held on December 3, 2018 at Khatkhati in wake of the recent alleged abduction of one of its bone fide members.
At the meeting, KBTU said several members expressed concern over the issue of illegal rampant taxation and undue harassment meted to the members of union.
In view of the prevailing situation, the KBTU said the house also resolved that all unauthorized unions and associations responsible for promoting anti-social elements and illegal taxation be closed besides resolving on “one Government one tax.”
KBTU also resolved that all matters related to transporter and transportation would be dealt directly by the union and not by individual or transporter.
Further, the union has urged the respective administration to book the perpetrator(s) responsible for the abduction of one of its members.
