Landslide-affected road at Khonoma village restored

A stretch of road at Khonoma village which was partially affected by monsoon landslide has been restored and opened for all types of traffic on Tuesday. 

The road restoration works was initiated with financial grants from NSDMA and contribution from various NGOs, individuals and well-wishers. The restored road was inaugurated by secretary home and Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Rovilatuo Mor.

The restoration work was mobilized by a peer group- Dolhuni Dziivi-u Golato (DGG).

Mor in his address appreciated DDG for initiating the work, and to each and every individuals for putting their best effort towards the completion of the work. 

He also appreciated the community participation in the developmental activities and called upon the people to continue to uphold the spirit of better understanding and oneness for all round development.

DDG member, L. Kenneth Punyii said that it took nearly three months to complete the restoration work. He thanked NSDMA for extending the financial assistance and also various groups and well wishers, adding that collective effort brought the task possible. 

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Megoneilhu Viyie while Kevikielie Pier proposed vote of thanks. The programme was attended by village leaders, public, PHED (Retd) chief engineer, Kevisekho Kruse and several other dignitaries.
