Sumi Kukami (GBs) Hoho (SKH), which held its baghi hoho (general session) on November 29, 2018, unanimously resolved to appeal to the Government of India to settle the Naga political issue at the earliest before the next parliamentary election.
In a press release, SKH general secretary Vikato Yepthomi said that the house, which adopted 8-point resolution, also appealed to all factions to join the peace process with the Government of India for early solution. The house reaffirmed support to Sumi Hoho and Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) “for Naga peace process and solution.”
SKH baghi hoho resolved to appeal to individuals and small groups not to talk about Naga Peace talk unless the authority sought their views.
Further, Sumi Kukami Hoho re-affirmed its stand that the “Kukami will unite Western, Eastern, Northern. Southern and central to protect and save in times of Good and Bad days.”
The house appealed to all the Churches for observance of “Kukumi Prayer Day” on the first Sunday of November every year. In this regard, the hoho has asked all executive secretaries of church associations and denominations to put in their calendar and observe starting from 2019.
SKH has also resolved that term of NGOs within Surni jurisdiction has been enhanced from 3 years to 5 years effective from 2019.
Further, Hoho appealed to NGBF to induct Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) president to be the executive in NGBF.
At the session, the house also approved Hobo constitution (Yezahboh) which would be implemented from 2019. The house resolved that SKH president should be advisor in Sumi Hoho and not executive.
