Neighbourhood Hindi Church at Midland here was allegedly attacked by a miscreant on Sunday afternoon.
According to its pastor Rev Daniel Shayan, a young man entered the church compound around 2 pm, picked up some stones and broke window glasses of the main administrative building, after which he attempted to damage some other properties and then escaped. He said it was later learnt that another man had entered the compound prior to the incident and asked the church’s Children’s Home cook whether the youth service was over.
The reverend said upon hearing that the youth service was over, the man left and another young man entered the compound while the children were playing and started smashing the windows of the administrative building. After attempting to damage some other parts of the building, he went towards the building that was under construction and escaped from there.
Daniel said the accused was wearing a half-pant and neon orange t-shirt and had long hairs with a pigtail, as described by some witnesses.
Mentioning that the matter had been reported with West Police Station for investigation, the pastor urged its office in-charge to take appropriate action against the culprits.
