Rejoicing at party’s victory, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Tuesday said that the road to 2019 was getting clearer and the supposed magic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on the wane.
NPCC through its media cell claimed that the resounding assembly election victory of Indian National Congress (INC) heralds the beginning of a new era under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
NPCC said people were fed up of Modi’s “jhumlas and slandering opponents” that have lowered the dignity of the Prime Minister’s office. It also said that the tall promises of BJP were sounding hollow day by day and the mood of the nation was gravitating towards teaching them a more befitting lesson in 2019.
With regard to Nagaland, NPCC said when people from major states can reject BJPs communal brand of politics, Nagas should retrospect and join hands to strengthen Congress and defeat the communal BJP and its “regional comfort parties like NDPP and NPF.”
Congress maintained that BJP being part of ruling government in Nagaland with the help of the two regional parties during the past 16 years has made a mockery of Nagas in the eyes of the nation. Meanwhile, NPCC has congratulated the state Congress units for working hard against all odds to triumph over BJP. It also congratulated and thanked the people for “outrightly rejecting BJP and its brand of communal politics that has polarized the country like never before.”
