A program on “Digital democracy: Redesigning 21st century democracy on Blockhain” was held on December 8 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.
A press release from convener of the program, Mathew K Janger stated that, it was attended by representatives of MiVote (Global) and MiVote India. The release added that both are leading non-governmental organisations in research and training in digital democracy.
Adam Jacoby, CEO of MiVote and Joydeep Mondal, CEO of MiVote India dealt at length on the need for digital democracy for a transparent and accountable democracy. The representatives of MiVote mentioned that they endorse right and willing candidates for assembly or parliament elections and give them with publicity and technical support. MiVote is not a political organization but a platform for facilitating political parties and aspiring candidates, the release added.
