Sangtam People’s Forum Dimapur District (SPFDD) has strongly condemned the incident in which GPRN/NSCN kilonser Hukato along with his cadres allegedly burned down houses, damaged properties and manhandled villagers including women and children at Sangtamtilla village on December 10.
In a condemnation note, SPFDD president, Bitong and press and information secretary, Imlikumzuk Sangtam claimed that Hukato had also threatened the village leaders with dire consequences.
The forum said that such callous act of Hukato for misusing his authority/power “which emanated from the mandate of the Nagas by using his government agents, arms and ammunition to threaten and terrorize the general public” was uncalled for and should be condemned by all. SPFDD further said it wanted to know whether Hukato has been authorised by GPRN/ NSCN government or on what authority he had openly targeted and incited the Sangtam Nagas when all Nagas are yearning for peaceful co-existence.
Pointing out that the “outrageous and despicable incident” occurred when Public Action Committee (PAC) had imposed bandh in Dimapur against the high handedness and abuse of power by some group/individuals against the business community, the SPFDD called upon all right thinking Nagas to condemn the incident.
