A 4-storeyed community building of Merama Khel, Phesama Village designed to cater multipurpose was inaugurated by Vilelie Khamo, Class-1 contractor on Tuesday.
In his speech, Khamo encouraged the Khel to utilise the building purposefully and make it a legacy for the coming generation. He recalled the ingenuity of those who had sacrificed and contributed towards the building construction.
During the inauguration ceremony, Ketoupuzo Lhoushe, convenor, building committee gave a brief report on the 4-storeyed building. The structure, provisioned for hosting tourists and guests has conference hall, kitchen, dining space, bedded rooms and suites. “The building can also be a source of income generation for the Khel youths,” the convenor said.
The structure costing about Rs. 72 lakh was esigned by Richard Belho.
The programme was chaired by Neilhouvi Chütso. Short speeches were delivered by Kethozhapu Sahu and Vichüsa Zashümo. The ceremony was also attended by other Khel representatives, villagers from the Southern Angami villages, frontal organisations and student bodies. Folk songs were presented by women folk.
