The 8th annual inter-ward cleanliness competition-cum-pre-Christmas celebration 2018 organized by Kohima Municipal Council for all the 19 wards was held on December 15.
In the cleanest ward award, Lower Chandmari (ward 13) bagged the first position followed by Porterlane (ward 14) and P.R. Hill (ward 19) in second and third positions.
They received a cash prizes of Rs. 50,000, Rs.30,000 and Rs. 20,000 along with running trophies and certificate.
The cleanest shop award was won by M/s Kohima Digital Electronic, main town followed by M/s K.S. Florist, Old Taxi Stand and M/s United Traders, main town in second and third positions. The winner in this category was exempted from trade tax for a period of one year while the second and the third positions were exempted for six and three months respectively.
Ngunyi and Nelie received the best sanitary worker award under KMC. Both received cash incentives of Rs. 5000 each.
