Nagaland Governor, P.B. Acharya, launched the online publication of Kohima Bhavan Raj Bhavan Journal (www.kohimarajbhavanjournal.in) at Raj Bhavan Kohima. The portal was developed, and will be managed, by North East Press Service (NEPS), an independent media house to update news about Raj Bhavan and its activities.
The Governor in his address expressed happiness that NEPS had come up with the idea in the name and style of The Kohima Raj Bhavan Journal. He lauded them for bringing the portal to be run by an independent media house, which he said was very rare, because most official websites of various ministries and Raj Bhavans in the country are created maintained by government nodal agencies.
Acharya said the maintaining and functioning of the portal website was purely their lookout and Raj Bhavan has no connection in its operations whatsoever. He said NEPS media group’s idea will not only highlight the Governor’s and Raj Bhavan’s activities but also disseminate them among other publications. The Governor added that the media has an important role to play in disseminating important information to the masses and strengthening unity and various activities of the state. He, however, cautioned against spreading wrong and fake information through social media which bring about confusion into society.
Editor NEPS and senior journalist, Oken Jeet Sandham, in his address said the idea of launching the Kohima Raj Bhavan Journal had been on his mind for some time.
He said the Governor has done so many good things for the state and this portal is a tribute to him.
Principal secretary to governor Piyush Goyal also addressed the gathering.
The launching program was chaired by Kohima Press Club general secretary, Alice Yhoshü. The program was attended by a host of media persons from various organizations, Raj Bhavan staff and others.
