District Child Protection Unit (DCPO) Peren, department of Social Welfare Nagaland conducted an awareness campaign against child sexual abuse under the theme, “Reducing harm” at Government Higher Secondary School Peren on November 16, as part of “Child Rights Week 2018” being held from November 14 to 20.
A press release by DCPO Peren stated that resource person, LCPO, Asungbe spoke on the issue of child sexual abuse and preventive measures. He also briefly discussed Protection of Children on Sexual Offenders Act 2012 and held a brainstorming session with the students.
The program was chaired by Hailung Pame and vote of thanks was delivered by DCPO, Avika Zhimomi.
