Various organizations celebrate jubilees

 KVSU celebrates 50th anniversary

The Kezoma Village Students’ Union (KVSU) celebrated its 50th anniversary from December 27 to 28 under the theme “Gratitude and Reviviscence” in Kezoma under Kohima district.
Youth resources & sports advisor, Er. Zale Neikha, in his address expressed optimism that the KVSU 50th year celebration would go a long way in bringing peace and oneness so that more progress may be achieved. He urged the students to be punctual and disciplined so that they may excel in their academic careers.
He challenged the students to study hard and also develop the habit of asking questions in order to clear doubts and also gather more knowledge.
Touching on the advantage of modern technology, Er. Neikha advised students to avoid excessive use of cell phones and concentrate more on lessons.
He urged the students to choose the right course after graduation and also take coaching classes for competitive exams. Stating that job avenues in the government sector had reached its saturation point, he called upon educated unemployed youth to engage themselves in entrepreneurial activities for gainful employment. To become a future leader, Er. Zale said, one must treat elders and parents with dignity and respect. 
Maintaining that today’s students were future leaders, he called upon students to actively participate in extracurricular activities like singing, playing, debate, extempore speech etc. He also challenged them to join platforms like the NCC/Scouts & Guides, NSS etc. to build confidence and leadership skills.
Earlier, Kezoma Village Council chairman, Puhovi Tase, Angami Students’ Union (ASU) vice president, Petekhrietuo Kiewhuo, Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU) president, Ketholeto Anthony Zashiimo, and Kezoma Gazetted Officers Krotho president, Kroneicho Naki shared greeting messages.
KVSU president, Ruokuo Noho delivered a presidential address and the inaugural function was chaired by organizing committee convenor, Kikrosa Naki.
Medongol Thami, pastor Kezoma Baptist Church, was the guest speaker on day one.
The celebration offered salutes to KVSU pioneers and renewed its vision to move ahead for greater achievements. Earlier, Er. Zale unveiled the 50th anniversary monolith.
  Later, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) president Kesosiil Christopher Ltu graced the valedictory session. The two day long celebrations were also marked by a KVSU sports meet, release of its souvenir, academic awards, and a debate on “Modern technology is ruining human social interaction.”
Coco Area Students’ Union celebrates golden jubilee
DIMAPUR: The Coco Area Students’ Union celebrated its Golden Jubilee on December 28 at Akuhaito town, Zunheboto district. Er Picto Shohe, MLA, who graced the occasion as the special guest, also unveiled the Jubilee Memorial Stone.
A press release by Z. Hokato Awomi stated that Er Picto Shohe, in his address, dwelt on the union’s motto “Bridge the gap”, and the jubilee theme, “Resolute persistence” (mtotoi puzusu wuni). He said that one should never look back, but look forward towards accomplishing their ambition.
Er. Shohe, who is also a former president of Coco Area students Union (1976 to 77), urged those present to be sincere in their studies or work and obey God to achieve success.
Thousands attended the golden jubilee program which included all the area GBs, public leaders, people from neighbouring villagers and students, the release added.
