
An introductory session of the 56th Annual Session of Kidima Students’ Union (KSU) was held at Village Council Hall, Kidima on December 28.
In his address as guest speaker, EAC, Kezocha, Er. Seyiekhrietuo Solo advised students to not only aspire for degrees, but also focus on quality education to bring positive changes to society. He said students should try to grasp the concept and not simply depend on memory and challenged them to absorb as much as information they could like a sponge.
Er. Seyiekhrietuo Solo also pointed out the massive gap between educated unemployed youth and actual availability of jobs. He added that in order to succeed in competitive exams one should study smartly and work hard.
He lamented that the present generation had lost the old belief in dignity of labour and he challenged the youth to use their hands and make a living off of their creativity. He cited the Naga craze for Western culture and the habit copying it, urging Nagas to go back to their roots and bring about a cultural renaissance to preserve their rich cultural heritage.
The program was chaired by Ruguozetuo Ltu, pastor CRC, Kidima, Videse Pucho invoked God’s blessing, the welcome address was delivered by Seyievi Visa, songs were presented by Keneihosale Kiso and Keviyieno Rikha and Videtonu Phinyo hosted the quiz hour.
61st PVSU Annual Session concludes: Pongidong Village Students Union (PVSU) held its 81st Annual Session from December 28 to 29 at Community Hall Pongidong, under the theme “Live and Let Live”, with M. Athungo Lotha, sub divisional education officer (SDEO) Atoizu, as special guest and Rev. Dr. L Tsanso, pastor, Pongidong Baptist Church (PBC) as theme speaker.
A press release from PVSU media cell stated that the special guest, while exhorting the session, stated that “tomorrow’s world belongs to the students.” He encouraged students to put in more efforts in their studies, which he said is indispensable in this competitive world. He also briefly highlighted the economy, polity and religion of Pongidong village in the present scenario.
Rev. Dr. L. Tsanso spoke based on the theme, viewed under five perspectives viz, faith, direction, relationship, love and connection with God as the key to “Live and Let Live”.
Earlier in the program, Jonjibemo, president PVSU delivered the welcome address, Shanchopeni & Co presented a special song, Ephyosen presented a guitar recital. Mhajamo general secretary PVSU and Alex finance secretary highlighted the PVSU annual report.
Rev. Z Elhio Tsopoe, pastor CRC Pongidong pronounced the invocation, and Ben Lotha youth president PBC offered the benediction. A vote of thanks was proposed by Soyinglo organising secretary PVSU. Senchilo vice president PVSU chaired the program.
The session also raised the tenure of PVSU office bearers to three years from the existing two years tenure.
The 61st annual session concluded with a thanks giving service & dedicatory prayer for the newly selected office bearers at Christian Revival Church (CRC) Pongidong, with Thungchobeni Emangrui, lecturer Harvest Bible College Dimapur as the speaker. Rev. Z Elhio Tsopoe, pastor CRC Pondidong gave the dedicatory payer.
