NSSATA Tuensang unit has extended support to the demand of NSSATA (2010-2013) for the release of their pending salaires.
A press release from NSSATA Tuensang unit president Aliba and general secretary, Beti stated that regular payment of salaries was one of the main agendas in the agreement signed on June 12 in the presence of NSF & ENSF. However, it said, the government failed to respond in spite of repeated assurances to meet the needs of aggrieved teachers.
The unit also added that recent release of salaries from June to August was in the process of being credited and which would only serve the purpose of clearing their months long debts incurred.
It urged the government to release the pending salaries along with 7 ROP with effect from September. The aggrieved teachers also stated that as Christmas was approaching, pending salaries have to be paid before the 1st week of December.
