The Kuthur Village Council (KVC) has adopted some resolutions regarding farming activities in its jurisdiction for strict compliance. A press note from the council chairman, S. Kejingkhum stated that it resolved to not allow farmers and cultivators to use chemicals and ‘medicines’ in cultivation fields. It has also decided to ban salt use in Jhum fields. The note warned that stern action would be taken against defaulters.
