A new Church building of the Sangtam Baptist Lithro Dimapur (SBLD) was dedicated at Duncan Basti by Reverend C. Lima, executive secretary of United Sangtam Baptist Lithroti Ashimükhong (USBLA) on November 25. Thousands of congregation members and well wishers attended the dedication program.
Congratulating SBLD on the new Church building, Rev. C. Lima asked the congregation to share the good news with neighbours and with everybody else because, he said, this new building is a sign of ripeness in the kingdom of God.
The reverend asked the gathering to eliminate selfishness and start loving one another with the love of Christ Jesus.
While appreciating pioneers and elders of the SBLD for making painstaking efforts towards shaping a new building, he asked the youngsters to take a role in spreading love and peace through this new building.
Deacon SBLD, Threlimong, while welcoming the gathering, thanked the members of the Church for rendering their support to construction of the new Church building.
The SBCD had begun with site dedication for the construction on June 24, 2013, and it was completed this year. The building has a seating capacity of 1300. Contributions and donations in cash and kind by members of the Church, other organizations and individuals contributed greatly to completion of the new building. As per accounting records, more than three crores were invested in the building.
C.Y. Sangtam, committee secretary, gave a report of the construction.
The program was chaired by Children Education director, Throngpila, and Committee chairman, L. Bitong delivered a vote of thanks. The pastor and Constructing Committee members expressed their appreciation to one and all that contributed to, and supported, the successful completion of the Church building.
