
A Nagaland State Transport (NST) bus service from Shamator to Dimapur night service was flagged-off by advisor IPR, SCERT, VG & chairman DPDB Tuensang, Toshi Wungtung on January 4 from Shamator.
According to a DIPR report, Wungtung expressed gratitude to chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, minister Transport, Civil Aviation & Railways, Paiwang Konyak, and the NST department for making the dream of the citizens of Shamator and its neighbouring areas come true.
He exhorted the public on the importance and necessity of transport and communication which, he said, is one of the most important departments for all round development.
He also urged the public to take care of public property just as they would their property by keeping things neat, tidy and safe. He further appealed to the people to cooperate with the department for smooth and safe functioning of public services.
Chairing the program, ADC Shamator, T. Lankonsen Tsanglao, also expressed gratitude to all the people who contributed to the success of the great service.
He especially thanked Toshi Wungtung, calling the day a Red Letter Day for Shamator.
Earlier, invocation was offered by pastor STBC Rev Thank. A speech on behalf of the department was delivered by AGM Dimapur, Thomas Kiutsamong, short speeches were also delivered by president YTC, Throngso, STPF, Thudan, senior department driver, Zungkum.
The dedicatory prayer was offered by ES YBBA, Dr. S.J. Album followed by the speech and flag-off by the special guest.
