Sunday Service held outside Wokha AG Church

Following a division that emerged in AG Church Wokha recently, and with the Wokha District administration subsequently restricting entry into the Church premises on December 21, 2018, a Sunday Service was conducted outside the Church on January 6.

AG Church, Wokha Press Desk, in a press release said that associate pastor, AG Church Wokha, Chandemo Ngullie, in his sermon encouraged the faithful to remain deeply rooted in Almighty God through prayer and fasting so that the present internal issues could be resolved and reconciliation could be brought about among the divided groups and sow seeds of love, unity, peace and harmony.

He added that prayers will be answered by God in His ways and times. He urged the faithful to have patience and continue fervently in their prayers.

The release also stated that the congregation expressed displeasure over the order passed by the District Administration restricting the faithful to enter into the Church services to worship, curtailing the basic fundamental rights to freedom of religion given in the Indian Constitution under Articles 25, 26, 27 and 28.

It prayed to the concerned authority to relax the order and allow the congregation to worship freely. The release, on behalf of the congregation, also appealed to the Naga brethren to remember them in their prayers so that God’s wisdom could prevail and deliver justice to the just.

It further notified the AG faithful congregation Wokha, that “the Bonafide General Body Representatives (BGBRs) had submitted representation to the General Superintendent, AG East India (AGEI) Dimapur; Nagaland and Wokha District Administration on 29th Dec 2018 and latter assured the representatives to look into the matter during the executives meeting.”

The Sunday service concluded with a prayer for Church leaders, and the community, to allow the Holy Spirit to prevail over the present situation and deliver justice on time.
