The project director, DRDA Peren has issued a clarification reacting to the news item “PDVBDA clarifies on GiA” published January 9 regarding the non-release of Grant in Aid (GiA) and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) funds.
In the clarification, the project director said that for the GiA, a cheque amounting to Rs. 4,69,51,000 has been received and forwarded to the DC and chairman of VDP Peren for deposit into respective VDB accounts. The VDB secretaries have been directed to contact their respective BDOs. It gave the break up of the fund as follows: Jalukie Block, Rs. 1,59,79,000; Athibung Block, Rs. 84,36,000; Peren Block, Rs. 80,61,000; Tening Block, Rs. 1,44,75,000. It however added that the MGNREGA funds have not yet been received from the government.
