JD(U) North East council formed

Nitish Kumar, president Janata Dal (United) has approved the constitution of The North East Executive Council (NEEC) of the JD(U) with its headquarters in Guwahati. A press release from JD(U) secretary, Afaque Ahmad Khan said that the council consists of: JD(U) Nagaland president, Senchumol Lotha as chairman; JD(U) Manipur president, Hangkhanpao Taithul as member secretary; JD(U) secretary , Afaque Ahmad Khan as coordinator, JD(U) secretary, Sanjay Verma as special invitee; and general secretary NE in charge, Harivansh Narayan Singh as ex-officio member.
The release also listed the president’s nominated members as: G. Kaito Aye, minister, government of Nagaland; K.C Tyagi, JD(U) secretary general; and JD(U) general secretary-org., R.C.P Singh, general secretary. It added that the presidents of the other North Eastern states will become members of the NEEC as and when their own state JD(U) units are formed.
