Childline Service meeting held in Peren

A meeting to initiate Childline (1098) service for Peren district was held on January 9 at DC’s conference hall, new Hq Peren.

According to DIPR, during the meeting, Sandeep Kumar Mitra (resource person) gave a briefing on the Childline (1098) service where he said that Childline (1098) is a national 24 hour free phone emergency outreach service for children in need of care and protection. 

He also said that Childline aims at protecting rights of children, deals with missing and abused children, and also provides shelter, rescue and medical aid, etc. 

DC Peren, S. Tainiu chaired the program and also delivered the welcome address. Government officials and NGOs attended the program.
