
Nagaland governor, PB Acharya, and chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, have extended greetings to the Chakhesang community on the occasion of Sukrunye festival 2019. In a message, Acharya described Sukrunye as one of the most significant festivals of the Chakhesangs, adding that such festivals give all the chance to sanctify and purify oneself. He expressed confidence that the festival would help purify one’s heart and soul in the truest form. “May the festival of Sukrunye bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Chakhesang’s in particular and Nagas in general,” Acharya said.
CM: Wishing the people from Chakhesang community a happy Sükrünyu, the state chief minister Neiphiu Rio prayed that the celebration not only bring peace, harmony and brotherhood among all sections of the people but also foster revival of positive age-old customs, practices and values.
