
The Chief Medical Office, Peren District, under the chairmanship of Dr. Denis Hangsing, CMO, held its district review meeting on January 10, at Conference Hall, Chief Medical Office, District Headquarter, new Peren.
The meeting was attended by the deputy chief medical officer, district program officers, nurses, pharmacist, DAPCU staff, district and block program management unit staff of NHM.
A press release from the CMO office Peren district media officer Pezanguno Celine Secii stated that the CMO welcomed and conveyed New Year greetings to all members present. He also asked that with the coming of the New Year, all category of staff rededicate themselves to serving patients sincerely and being regular in their place of posting.
Addressing the gathering, DPO RCH/UIP, Dr. Nukshisangla Jamir, spoke about the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) which will be held from February 3 to 5.
She highlighted that Polio has been eradicated except in Pakistan and therefore there were still chances of infection since it is an air borne disease. And thus IPPI is still to be continued. She said that everyone has a role to play and also highlighted the importance of timely reporting.
The CMO also reported that Child Helpline 1098 will be introduced very soon in the district. He directed all staff to apply for leave or take prior permission whenever they have to be out of the state.
He further invited all staff to the State Level Mini Hornbill & Mimkut celebrations in Athibung from January 15 to 19.
CMO along with the members present also welcomed new deputy CMO, Dr. Yartenla and medical officer, Heningkunglwa, Dr. Ramdeu Lungalang.
District coordinator NHP gave a slide-show presentation where she highlighted report assessment of health committees under Peren District: facilities available and achievements, various implementations of services provided and the gaps.
A short farewell program was also held for the outgoing DPO, NVBDCP, Dr. Limatula.
The next review meeting has been scheduled to be held on February 7.
