ICAR-KVK Peren conducts multi disciplinary training

ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Peren organised a multi disciplinary training program at Community Hall, Deukaram, for DFI adopted village farmers on January 9.

A press release from ICAR-KVK Peren stated that during the technical session, Dr. L. Babita Devi, ACTO (A/Sc) delivered a lecture on “Scientific pig production” and elaborated on the importance of scientific management of pigs for income generation. Dr. Patu K. Zeliang, SMS (Plant breeding & genetics), explained the “Protection of plant varieties and farmers rights act and biodiversity conservation”. Imliakum Pongener, farm manager, KVK, Dimapur also gave a lecture on “Management of apiary unit and commercialization” and elaborated on the topic by showing a film on how to manage an apiary unit. Dr. Moanaro, farm manager, KVK, Peren spoke on “Management in winter vegetable crops”. Seeds of okra and green gram were distributed to the farmers of the DFI village, followed by a farmer scientist interaction. The team also visited farmers’ fields of French Bean and a piggery.
