
The 29th session of Jakhama Village Day was celebrated at Jakhama Local Ground on January 16. Retired senior entomologist, Ketholeho Kulnu was the main speaker during the occasion.
According to DIPR, Ketholehu, speaking on the occasion said, Jakhama village was blessed with rich flora and fauna and the village had progressed in many ways. He urged the gathering to preserve and practice the good values and traditions of their forefathers.
Acknowledging opportunities provided by educational institutions in Jakhama, not only for students but also the village economy, Kulnu said the village should provide security, facilities and a student friendly environment. With tourists visiting Dzükou valley, the Hornbill festival and with the NH-29 passing through Jakhama, Kulnu said that Jakha town had the potential to become a ‘utility service’ town.
He also exhorted village leaders to be honest and sincere in their roles in line with the Village Council motto- ‘Truth and Victory’.
Zhokhovi Kulnu, Governor’s Best Teacher award winner, Ane Khieya EAC, NPSC 2018, Rokosetuo Tetso EAC, NPSC 2018, Vimetsul Tase, Gold medalist 33rd Kings Cup championship at Korat Thailand, and Visakhonuo Kulnu HSSLC top number 4, were felicitated on Jakhama Day.
The invocation was pronounced by Rev. Zapovil Sophie, and a welcome address was given by Jakhama Village Chairman, Dr. Nolesel Zhotso. A special song was performed by Kezhokhoto Savi and folk songs were performed by the eight Khels of Jakhama village.
