
Asukhuto Village Baptist Church (AVBC) organized a farewell program & thanksgiving service for pastor Rev. Dohekhu Achumi on his attainment of 50 years of his ministry, on January 13 at the Church premises.
A press release issued by Vitoka K Aye stated that the jubilee was attended by Church leaders and citizens of Vekuho Old/New villages, Asukhuto Town Atoizu with executive secretary SBAK Nito Mount, Rev. Hukugha Zhimo and evangelist SBAK Nito Mount, Rev. Ahoto Awomi as special guests.
Congratulating Rev. Dohekhu, Rev. Hukugha Zhimo referred to the Bible and said that the reverend had succeeded in his service and received awards from God of his noble service. He also said that Rev. Dohekhu was a man of strong faith in God. Earlier, he also released the 50 years Golden Jubilee souvenir of Rev. Dohekhu Achumi.
Pastor Asukhuto Village Baptist Church (AVBC), Rev. Dohekhu Achumi in his key note address, expressed his gratitude to AVBC for the jubilee celebration and acknowledgment of his service and extended jubilee blessings to the congregation.
Rev. Dohekhu, was born in the year 1940 at Asukhuto village, who dedicated himself to Christ and began serving as pastor under SBAK in the year 1969 at Khewoto Village Baptist Church till 1983. During his 50 years of service, he baptised 187 followers of Christ and administered 30 Holy matrimony ceremonies.
The program was chaired by associate women pastor, Vilitoli; secretary for the program was Aristo Aye; the invocation was offered by pastor Vekuho New Baptist Church, Inoka Khuju. Toli Aye and friends presented a farewell song; youth leader, Khekivi read from the scripture; short messages were delivered Rev. Ahoto Awomi, G.B, Tsungato Aye, Atoizu Area Church Leaders Fellowship (AACLF), Lupishe Aye, and deacon chairman, Tokishe followed by the benediction by pastor Vekuho Old Baptist Church, Khetovi Chophy. The program was followed by a Jubilee feast.
