State BJP attends national convention at New Delhi

Nagaland state BJP team attended two-day national convention of the party at Ram Lilla Ground, New Delhi from January 11 to 12. 

A press release from BJP Nagaland state general secretary, Jaangsillung Gonmei stated that, flag hoisting ceremony was jointly undertaken by prime minister Modi, national BJP president Amit Shah and former national BJP presidents L. K. Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, in the presence of the chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of the states. 

Amit Shah gave the presidential address whereby, he highlighted the progress of the party during his term and the prospects and challenges that lie ahead for the party and the nation. 

All the union ministers of the cabinet committee present, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Nirmala Sitharaman, Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh, addressed the convention, each with a perspective of their respective departments. From the North East, Himanta Biswa Sarma minister of Finance, Assam and convenor of NEDA, addressed the convention highlighting various aspects of the policies pertaining to the North Eastern States. 

On the second and final day, the Modi gave the valedictory address whereupon, he dwelt in detail on several important issues that were addressed by the party’s government in the last few years and provided clarifications and explanations.The national convention passed three resolutions on political, agriculture and welfare of the poor.

On the 12th evening after the convention, a meeting was held on the preparation for the forth coming parliamentary elections. 

All the state presidents, state general secretaries and organisation incharges attended. Nagaland was represented by the state president Temjen Imna Along, minister for Higher and Technical Education, state secretary (Org) Ananta Mishra, state general secretaries Jaangsillung Gonmei and Kavili Achumi. Prime minister Modi, Amit Shah and national general secrtary (Org) Ramlal, addressed and interacted with the members and laid out the programmes to be implemented.

The state BJP team comprising of 86 party legislators and state party officials, state frontal presidents, parliament committee members, core committee members, national council member P. Paiwang Konyak, minister of Transport and CA, chairmen of state boards, former state presidents, district presidents and district general secretaries, led by the state president Temjen  Imna Along, minister of Higher and Technical Education and deputy chief minister Y. Patton, 

The convention was massive gathering of more than 12,000 (twelve thousand) registered delegates from all over the country.
