Lower P.R Hill Youth Organisation and Naga Shisha Hoho Prayer Centre (NSHPC) Pruzie, Kohima organized separate programs to mark their 25th anniversaries on January 19. Following are reports from the events.
Lower PR Hill Youth Organisation celebrates Jubilee: Lower P.R Hill Youth Organisation (LPRHYO) Kohima celebrated its 25th anniversary on January 19 at lower P. R Hill Panchayat Hall under the theme ‘Towards Virtuosity’.
The program was blessed by Lower P. R Hill chairman women fellowship, Nevolü Theyo and a welcome speech was delivered by president, Aowapang Paul.
Ex-officials of lower P. R Hill Youth organisation and meritorious individuals were felicitated in the program.
SDO (C) Sadar Kohima and convenor adoption committee, Longsasen Lotha, in his short speech said a Jubilee was a time to forgive and reflect on past years.
He encouraged the youth present to carry on the good work of their elders and suggested that they clean the colony once a week to keep it clean.
Special guest, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, in his speech congratulated the youth for completing 25 years and commented that he had seen great achievements from unity. Among the problems faced by the colony, he pointed out two primary things to be done – one, to provide electricity to the lower colony area, and two, to bury water pipes which are hanging above the national highway and buildings, damaging the beauty of the colony.
He said the more people come together, the closer they become and understand each other.
The program ended with general secretary Kevi Belho giving the vote of thanks.
NSHPC Pruzie anniversary celebrations underway: The two-day 25th anniversary celebrations of Naga Shisha Hoho Prayer Centre (NSHPC) Pruzie, Kohima, under the theme “To obey is better than sacrifice” (1 Samuel 15:22) got underway at its prayer centre with president Apostolic ministries Rev. Dr. Luozilie Sanchu as the celebration speaker on Saturday night.
Revered Sanchu in his speech reminded the congregation that Naga people, surrounded by many great non -Christian nations were called by God to obey His will and fulfil the great commission given by Jesus.
He urged the Naga people to do away tribalism, factionalism and denominationalism and follow the principles of Christ. He admitted that Naga people have lived against the will of God in so many ways though they are Christians.
Revered Sanchu challenged the Naga people and encouraged believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Pastor of the prayer centre, Vezokho Vero, in his brief address, shared how the centre struggled in the initial years. He stated that the prayer centre has six full time workers at present.
Earlier, 25th anniversary monolith was unveiled by general secretary NBCC Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho at the prayer centre.
The inaugural service was led by Rev. Puduhii Khiisoh, invocation prayer was said by chairman Naga Shisha Hoho pastor Theputso Rhakho, Bible reading and prayer by pastor Upper Naga bazaar Baptist Church Kohima Ruokuowhelie Pienyii. Senior pastor Kohima Ao Baptist Church Rev. M. Asangba Longkumer released the 25th anniversary souvenir and memento. Special songs were presented by the anniversary choir, 4th NAP Baptist Church Thizama and New market NCRC Kohima.
The offertory prayer was said by pastor NCRC P.R. Hill Kohima Yangulie Sanchu, and the benediction prayer said by Rev. Kiezotuo Zhale Baptist Mission Church.
On Sunday morning at 10 am, Nagaland Baptist Church Council general secretary, Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho will share the word of God and in the evening service at 4 pm, Western Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kukhakulu executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi will share the message.
