
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) RO Tinsukia organized a Regional Incentive Award Program at Kendirya Vidyalaya (KV), Dimapur on January 19.
A press release from Kendriya Vidyalaya Dimapur principal Umeesh Chandra stated that B K Behra DC (i/c) KVS RO Tinsukia, in his speech, encouraged the principals and teachers to work hard for the betterment of students and society at large. Chief guest Brig. D. S Rawat, chief engineer Project Sewak briefed the gathering about challenges in the present education system and the role of KV Tinsukia region to counter these problems in the field of education.
Guest of honour SK Chopdar director ZIET Bhubaneshwar spoke about the positive aspects of life that are needed to move ahead. Assistant commissioner SV Joglekar expressed gratitude to all who had contributed to make the event successful.
Guests were enthralled by the various cultural performances like Naga, classical, bamboo, bihu, galo and sattriya dances by students of KV Dimapur, Churachandpur, Tinsukia, Itanagar, and Duliajan. Regional incentive awards were distributed to eight teachers after which 32 teachers were awarded certificates of excellence for the session 2017-18 by the chief guest, guest of honour along with DC (i/c) KVS RO Tinsukia.
KV Chaua, Dimapur, and Dinjan were adjudged first, second and third for Harit Vidyalaya, while KV Dimapur, Duliajan and Kimin for Swachh Vidyalaya, respectively.
Earlier, the program began with the lighting of a lamp by Brig. D. S Rawat, and chairman VMC KV Dimapur invoking divine blessings. A song was presented by students of KV Dimapur and a welcome address delivered by principal KV Dimapur, Umeesh Chandra.
