PGC floriculture exposure trip to Sikkim

Altogether, 25 floriculture students of Pfutsero Government College (PGC) B.A. 6th semester along with six faculty members, went on an exposure tour to Sikkim from January 8 to 14. 

A press release from PGC assistant professor & HOD, English convenor, floriculture D. Chandani stated that the tour was sponsored by RUSA under higher education vocational. The college started floriculture as an additional course from 2017-18 and the present batch is its second batch. 

The team visited the Cymbidium Development Centre, Rumtek, East Sikkim (Horticulture and Cash Crops Dev. Department) Government of Sikkim and conducted a very fruitful session of demonstration and interaction with staff of the centre. 

During the three day stay in Sikkim, the team also visited the Tsomgo Lake in Northern Sikkim and many other places of tourist importance. The tour provided a great opportunity of exposure and learning for students, many of whom had never travelled outside their own home town.
