Zhobumai Baptist Church (ZBC) celebrated its 75th years of Christianity under the theme “Renewal of hope for eternity” at Zhobumai village on Tuesday with convener Naga Forum for reconciliation (FNR) Rev. Dr. Wati Aier as speaker.
Dr. Aier in his speech based on the theme, related the story of Paul in the Bible, who did remarkable things for the Lord with great hope.
He therefore reminded the congregation that as Christian they should be excited with the present life and work for Him with the hope of eternal life from God.
Reminding the congregation that forefathers embraced Christianity with hope of eternal life, he urged them to continue with that spirit.
The programme chaired by D. Siipunii Jackson began with an invocation by Rev. P.T. Thaisii finance secretary PNBA.
Special songs were presented by H. Vanlalhlimpuii and Bethsy Lalringsangi both from Mizoram and maiden echoes team. The service concluded with benediction prayer by pastor PBCS Ng. David Sha.
On Tuesday evening, pastor Kakhulong Baptist Church Imphal Rev. Piano Pani will deliver the word of God. Earlier, on January 21 evening, executive secretary Poumai Naga Baptist association Rev. P. James unveiled the jubilee monolith and hoisted the jubilee flag while the jubilee flame was lighted by pastor Losami Baptist Church.
Thousand of delegates from Poumai Baptist churches, Chakhesang Baptist churches, neighbouring churches and others attended the celebration.
It may be mentioned that the gospel of Christ first reached village in the year 1944.
