
Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) during its 68th general council meeting held from January 18 to 20 at Thenyizu Baptist Church has adopted four-point resolutions.
According to CBCC executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, the council has resolved to reaffirm its commitment to the finished works of Jesus Christ, to be more dedicated and equipped in liberating the people from all kinds of sin’s bondages. It resolved to appeal all believers not to engage in any secular activities/programmes on Sundays but to uphold the sanctity of the day. The council also resolved to urge and admonish all believers not to be swayed by heresies and false prophecies but be guided by the Scriptures and remain firmly rooted in the Word of God. Finally, it resolved to reaffirm its commitment for clean election during the forthcoming Lok Sabha election as per the directives of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and Chakhesang Clean Election Movement (CCEM). Church leaders including Rev. P. Bonny Resu, Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo and Rev. Dr. Dingu Kenye addressed the general council.
Altogether 519 official delegates representing 100 churches and one fellowship under CBCC churches attended the meeting. The next 69th CBCC general council to be held in 2020 will be hosted by Leshemi Baptist Church.
