ATMA inaugurates piggery farm school

ATMA Medziphema block Dimapur inaugurated a “Piggery Farm School” at Seithekima-C village on May 25 with ACTO (Animal Science), KVK (ICAR) Jharnapani, Dr. Ebibeni Ngullie as the resource person and Khrokedu Therie as the farm school teacher. A press release from ATMA Dimapur, Medziphema block stated that during the inaugural programme, Dr. Ebibeni spoke on management issues of in-breeding, disease management and artificial insemination (AI) of pigs. The concept of a farm school was explained by BTM, Chubanaro Jamir. Farm Women’s Food Security Group (FSG) named “Kezekevi Krotho” was formed comprising of eight women members. Chubanaro highlighted the concept of FSG. BTT convener and ACTO (Soil Science) KVK (ICAR) Jharnapani imparted training to the SHG farmers on “Homestead garden for nutritional security”. Altogether 18 farmer attended the training programme. Free lime bags were distributed among them and financial assistance was given to the farm school teacher and to the FSG group.
