In remembrance of the coming of the Gospel to Nagaland through Evangelist Godhula (October 1871) and pioneer American missionary Dr. E.W. Clark (December 18, 1872), the Women Ministry department of Molungkimong Baptist Church organized a ‘Mission Walk’, on January 25. The walk began from the banks of Tzürang (Tero) river and went to Molungkimong. It is a journey of approximately 8.43 kilometers.
A press release issued by associate pastor (W), Asenla Tzudir, stated that this was the path through which the gospel first came to Nagaland. Burdened with the Naga Mission, pioneer missionaries undertook the dangerous and exhausting journey to come to the Naga land with the Gospel.
Altogether 52 members undertook the walk, remembering the sacrifices of the two pioneers, and with a vision to broaden God’s vineyard. This historical path was the erstwhile Rongsensü Lenmang (Ao-Ahom Trade Route) which today is known as the ‘First Gospel Path’ to Nagaland.
