Govt appoints Lokayukta

State government has appointed Justice Uma Nath Singh, former Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, to be the Lokayukta of Nagaland. In an official notification, the government stated that Justice Uma Nath Singh shall hold office for the term of five years from which he enters upon his office or till he attains the age of 70 years whichever is earlier. Other terms of office and conditions shall be as stipulated in Section 7(1) to (4) of the Nagaland Lokayukta Act 2007 (Act 1 of 2018), the notification stated.
