
Stella Higher Secondary School (SHSS), Kohima, organized a robotics competition under theme “Imagination into reality,” in collaboration with ATAL tinkering Lab, on February 1.
The competition was a Pick and Place Robotics Competition where students used handmade robotic cranes to place boxes with handles on them into another box from outside a border line. Points were awarded according to placement of the boxes .
Trainee students who participated in the competition had attended this week’s training at ATAL tinkering Lab in Stella school led by co-founder of Robospecies, Anurag Tiwari.
Divided into three teams, 15 participants went through four rounds of ten points each.
After a rough battle between Team 2 and 3, who made it through to the final round, team 2 won with 27 points.
Certificates were awarded to all participants by Robospecies, the main supplier of all raw materials used in the lab.
School administrator Thejavino Moa also announced that a Robotics club for students will be set up, led by Arun, and welcomed students to join it. She also added that the concept the lab was to encourage students to explore the science world.
