German CIM official visits Nagaland

Government of Germany, Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM), advisor, Richa Arora came to Nagaland on a three-day visit on January 28. CIM is jointly run by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the German Federal Employment Agency, and it aims to promote the positive impact of migration and global labour mobility in order to improve the prospects of people living in developing countries and emerging economies.

A press release by Dr. Atoho Jakhalu, research director, Climate Studies and Knowledge Solutions Centre (Department of Science and Technology, government of Nagaland), stated that Arora met Mmhonlumo Kikon, advisor, science and technology, IT, NRE and senior officials of the department of Forest, Environment, and Climate Change.

A meeting was also convened with YouthNet, UNICEF, and CHI. 

On her third day in the State, various opportunities, both governmental and non-governmental, were discussed to support the state through the Indian ‘Diaspora Experts’ in Germany.

The Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) is a joint operation between GIZ (German Development Cooperation) and the German Federal Employment Agency (BA). Dr. Jakhalu is currently supported by the German Government’s CIM as a ‘Returning Expert’ to push the climate and sustainable development agenda in India.
