Training on professional skill development

State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a two-day “Professional Skills Development Programme” in collaboration with Nagaland Career and Development Centre (NCDC), a YouthNet initiative for ATMA functionaries and Agri officials at SAMETI, Medziphema on January 29 and 30.

A press release from director SAMETI Medziphema stated that the resource persons for the training program were Manager-Learning & Development and Talent Management, Nuneseno Chase, training consultant, Ebibeni Humtsoe, lead Resource Centre, Inakali Zhimo; education counsellor, Linet Sangtam, H.R executive, Viseno Yakhro, and intern from YouthNet, Kili Sumi.

The training program involved introduction to the program and session objectives, professionalism, etiquette, time management, debriefing and energizers, communication skills, meeting skills and event coordination and teamwork. Practical exercises on role play, team work, communication skills and letter writing were also conducted.

In her valedictory address Ebibeni Humtsoe expressed gratitude to SAMETI for the collaborative undertaking. She remarked that the training program was a two way learning experience for both facilitators as well as participants. She applauded the participants for their dedication to their official duty and the enthusiasm displayed throughout the training program. The training was aimed at educating participants on people skills to enable them to execute their official duties more efficiently and effectively.

The valedictory program was chaired by DPD SAMETI, VikahoChophi. Feedback from the trainees was given by A.O. DOA Kohima, K. Azungla Pongener, and DPD Wokha, Yanglen Jami. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by DPD SAMETI, Tiajungla Longchar.
