
The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) bade farewell to its chief engineer, Er. K. Ghushito Sema who completed 35 years of service. A special farewell program was organised in his honour at the Capital Convention Centre on Thursday.
A press release issued by the department stated that Er. Sema, in his address said that he was privileged to have served the people of Nagaland for 35 years and thanked God for his special blessings, the support of family members and for the strong support and cooperation of all officers and staff.
He said he was very impressed with the high quality of officers he worked with and called them his “Dream Team”. He thanked all of them and urged them to continue to fight to improve the department.
Speaking about his replacement, Er. Sema said Er. Y. Tep, the new chief engineer, is a well experienced man and hoped that the department would continue to scale higher under his leadership.
Speaking on behalf of PHED officers and staff, Er. Repang Longkumer, additional CE, and president, APHEN said that K. Ghushito Sema had played a major role in the department till his retirement.
Dr. Maongwati Aier, commissioner & secretary PHED also spoke on the occasion, acknowledged the outgoing officer as having achieved a lot during his tenure.
OSD to minister for PHED, Advocate Kakheto Chishi, who spoke on behalf of Jacob Zhimomi, stated that a government employee attaining pension during their lifetime was a great achievement.
On behalf of the government and the department, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to Er. K. G Sema for rendering his best service, and also thanked his wife for her support and motivation.
The function was chaired by the new chief engineer, Er. Y. Tep. Invocation was offered by Rev. Arithung Lotha, associate pastor, Kohima Lotha Baptist Church, which was followed by a special song from Er. Mezivil Stanny Kikhi and directorate staff. Er. T. Sangtam, superintending engineer, Dimapur Circle pronounced the vote of thanks.
